On Monday October 16th, at 10.30 a.m., the International Workshop "Understanding the Multiple Value of Cryptocurrencies: Issues and Opportunities" begins at the Aula Magna Storica of the Sant'Anna School in Pisa; the event is organised by the Research Area in Public Ethics at the end of the research project co-funded by the Bank of Italy "Cripto-exia: an ethical approach to cryptocurrencies and Blockchain".

The interdisciplinary event starts with the opening remarks of David Natali, Dirpolis (Law, Politics, Development) Institute Vice-Director and Alberto Pirni, project coordinator, and continues with three different disciplinary panels. The first, the institutional one, hold the paper of Silvia Vori, Deputy Head of the Directorate General for Economics, Statistics and Research at the Bank of Italy, followed by the paper by Gianfranco Trovatore, Director of the Department of Legal Studies at Consob. In the afternoon, the workshop continues with the Ethics panel and the papers of Adrian Walsh of the University of New England and Alessandro Chiessi, research fellow at the Dirpolis Institute. This is followed by the economic panel and papers by Asaf Levi Alfaroviz and Santos Andres Gutierrez Figueroa of the European University of Madrid.

The next day, in room 6 in via Cardinal Maffi, the workshop continues with the engineering panel and holds the papers by Laura Ricci and Damiano Di Francesco Maesa from the University of Pisa. The last panel is the legal one with the paper of Eugenia Macchiavello from the University of Genoa and Florian Moslein from the University of Marburg.

A final discussion coordinated by Alberto Pirni and Alessandro Chiessi closes the two days workshop.
